Our Story
House of Destiny Ministries, Kamloops, is a vibrant church that is led by Pastor (Dr) Richard and Alice Kanyangu. The church is located on Thompson Rivers University; where a large part of the congregation is taking their studies. The church started on the 9th of April 2011, and has experienced God ordained growth.
Our Mission
To contribute to a world where everyone has heard about, been given an opportunity to, and decided to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Our Core Beliefs
THE SCRIPTURES
The Scriptures are the infallible and authoritative Word of God, without error given for the purpose of directing man to salvation. 2 Timothy 3:16.
GOD, THE FATHER
God, the Father, is the Creator of Heaven and Earth and the Sustainer of all things. There is only one God, infinite, eternal and perfect in holiness, truth, and love.
THE TRIUNE GOD
The Triune God consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-existent and co-equal.
GOD THE SON JESUS
God the Son Jesus was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and was without sin. He was the vicarious sacrifice for the sin of all mankind through his death on the cross. He died and rose again as he had foretold, was seen by many, and ascended into heaven and will return to earth in power and glory. He is the head of His body the Church.
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
God the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, unites man to Jesus in faith, brings about the new birth and dwells within the believer enabling him/her to grow in sanctification, righteousness, holiness and to become a gift of God to the Church and a light to the world.
THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ and who will surrender their lives to the complete perfect will of God. It is God's gift available to those who believe.
MAN
Man was created in the image and likeness of God. Through the sin of one man – Adam, mankind has fallen from God and has become sinful in nature. Man is totally incapable of returning to God in himself and is lost without hope, apart from the salvation that is in Jesus Christ.
SALVATION
Salvation is the gift of God through the grace and faith of Jesus Christ. There is no other name except that of Jesus Christ by which man may be saved. By believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth, repentance leads to man being born again into eternal life by the Holy Spirit.
THE CHURCH
The Church is the body and bride of Jesus Christ, whose task is to take the Gospel to all the nations of the world and to make disciples of them.

Brief History
House of Destiny Ministries Canada (hereafter referred to as HoDCa), is a church that was started on the 9th of May 2011 in Kamloops BC. The church is an extension of House of Destiny Ministries UK. Pastor Richard and Alice Kanyangu are the resident pastors in Kamloops.
The church met at the pastor's residence in Pineview from its inception, until its size could not be accommodated comfortably at the residence. On the 1st of September 2011 the church moved to 324 Victoria Street, where it has remained to date. The church was officially registered as a Society in BC on November 1, 2011. In the next year the church will seek to register as a charity. This has its own challenges, but we are confident we will meet them equally. The church has continued to experience steady growth and has developed from strength to strength.
The church has been engaged in the community and has sought many ways to assimilate the church community and the general community at large. The church hosted its first anniversary at Riverside Park, involving people from other churches and the community. This event was a great success, with an open BBQ enjoyed by many.
In the past, the church has contributed to the needs of the Food Bank, New Life Mission, Women's Shelter and continues to seek many ways of reaching out to other missions in and around Kamloops. Our vision to reach the lost is driven by a desire to meet the spiritual needs of those in our geo-physical and cyber vicinity with the Word of God. While the church still has limited resources, we believe we can be most effective in reaching those people in need in Kamloops and so we continue to establish and nurture connections, links and relationships with such resource systems.
The church has established itself as a partner and fountain from which the young and vibrant community around Thompson Rivers University, feeds on the Word of God, communes with each other and earnestly seeks the Lord. Therefore, the Thompson Rivers University has largely provided a home base for the HoDCA over the past few years. This base allows new and current students from all over the world to quickly find a welcoming spiritual home where they are shepherded to seek the Lord in truth and in spirit.
Looking into the Future
Since moving its base to the TRU, the church is most grateful to the Lord for presenting immense opportunities to reach out to more young people, frankly present the gospel of the resurrected Christ Jesus, engage the international student community, and disciple young people in very practical ways. The current demographic of the HoDCA congregation and the centrality of the TRU campus base are two factors that make the outreach more achievable and effective.
Our music ministry continues to grow from strength to strength as we look to develop our musicians through formal training, equipping them with the necessary capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the Ministry of Jesus Christ. Our community involvement will increase in its scope as we intend to work more closely with other church denominations, not-for-profit organizations and relevant government ministries to bring about improved life experiences for our community.
As the Lord's grace continues to abound, the HoDCA envisages a future where planting and supporting the establishment of more God-fearing and Bible-guided churches in Canada and other parts of the world becomes a reality.
